We are a small company specialising in hostel accommodation and traditional outdoor activities in the Lake District. We aim always to be affordable, our accommodation basic but comfortable and our activities exciting and safe.

  • VAT Reg no:    804 4529 42

  • Insurance:    We carry £5 million Public Liability Insurance through the Activities Industry Mutual/Arch Insurance and can increase this for specific events if required.

  • AALA License no:     L3660/R0506

  • Our food preparation areas and systems are inspected annually by Environmental Health. The Managing Director holds CIEH Intermediate Food Hygiene and has direct supervision of this area.

  • Where it is necessary to use sub contractors we select them carefully and keep copies of their insurance provisions and risk assessments on file. Freelance staff are only used if they are known to us or recommended by a trusted source and we always check they have any qualifications which are required.

 

About our Staff...

Rebbecca        Director

Has been running Denton House for several years working for the previous tenant. Set up Vivid Events when the previous tenants decided to move on as she couldn't bear to leave! Now doing most things from accounts to cooking and marketing to cleaning loos.

Relevant qualifications:

  • CIEH Intermediate Food Hygiene

  • Working towards ACCA Bookkeeping

  • BSc Ecology

  • and soonish MSc Aquatic Ecosystem Management...

Cedric      Activities Manager

Cedric's a very experienced and enthusiastic outdoor instructor who has worked with all manner of people in all sorts of circumstances. Renowned for his ability to fix anything and his extreme hairiness.

  • BCU Level 3 Coach Kayak

  • BCU Level 4 Coach Canoe

  • BCU Canoe Safety Test Assessor

  • SPSA

  • BASP Standard First Aid

  • RYA Power Boat Level 4

  • GNAS Archery Leader

  • NVQ D32 D33 Assessor

 

Jo    Office

Fluent in French and German, not too rusty on paperwork either. Jo's also a TEFL teacher and freelance educational consultant - so she's the person to talk to if your group has specific or complex educational or cultural objectives for their trip.
